PALERMO: Al-Azīz, la Stupenda

“Al-Azīz” means “the gorgeous” or “the splendid” and we think this is the only name that can fit for this beautiful Sicilian castle that stand in the middle of an Islamic garden called Jannat al-ard (that means paradise on the Earth 🍃) rich in fountains, citrus and olive trees 🌳 and flowers 🏵️🌸 that once was the hunting resort of the Sicilian Norman kings dynasty 👑. Inside the castle, an ingenious network of channels designed by Arab-Norman engineers allows fresh air 💨 to keep rooms and hall cool ❄️ (that’s essential for surviving Sicilian summer 😹🌡️) And owh, the castle became in 2015 one of the nine UNESCO world heritage site of Arab-Norman culture in Palermo Cefalù and Monreale so, what are you waiting for?! take your camera and go explore them all! 📷🗺️ Share your photos and stories with us with #Travelrelation ✈️
